I AM RESURRECTION AND I AM LIFE
I am Resurrection and I am Life, say
the Lord,
All who have faith in me shall have life,
even though they die
And all who have life,
and have
committed themselves to me in faith,
shall not die for ever,
As for me, I know
that my Redeemer lives
and at the last will
stand upon the earth,
After
my awakening, he will raise me up;
and in my body shall I see God,
I myself shall see,
and my eyes behold God
who is my friend and not a stranger,
For we have no life in ourselves,
and none of us become our own
master when we die.
For if we have life, we are alive in the Lord,
and if we die in the Lord.
So, then, whether we live or
die, we are the Lord's possession.
Happy, from now on are those who die in the Lord!
So it is,
says the Spirit, for they rest from their labours.

Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when day is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways
of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories I leave
behind - - when day is done.

There is mystery here
and we open ourselves to this mystery, as we accept the reality
of their deaths.
Their deaths speak to us
of the wonder of being human
in a universe so vast and so magnificent
and of our existence within a mystery and a power
that we cannot understand or put into words.
In a very real sense this vast and |
magnificent universe of
ours came alive and became aware in them.
They gave God a way of coming to expression,
here in our lives,
here in a way that reached out and touched us.
They lived and loved in God,
God lived and loved in them
and in death they live on in God. |

I
believe that the living God is with us always,
that people of faith are our brothers and sisters in the
Holy Spirit.
I believe that those who have gone before have lessons to
teach us and that we have more than one opportunity to learn and
grow.
I believe that God is mercifully in control of human
history,
and will bring it to completion, and we will be in God's memory forever.
