     Pilgrimage in Story and Life
pilgrimage

Workshop at St. John's United Church: Pilgrimage In Story And Life: Friday, January 13 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, January 14 from 9:30-3:00 p.m. with the Rev Lynne McNaughton and the Rev Dr. Gerald Hobbs. Cost: $25 (lunch included). Pilgrimage as "travel with a spiritual purpose" is a major theme in the stories of our faith tradition. Whether we travel or not, pilgrimage also has the potential of becoming a "lived meta-phor" that opens us in times of change to embrace God's transforming work in our-selves and our faith communities. See poster in breezeway for more information. A sign up sheet is available in the narthex.

            Inclusive Communion

            communion
We at St. Hilda's offer Communion to all spiritual pilgrims.
Below are two articles that help explain why we and other churches find this practice a generous Christ-Like Hospitality.

The use of the St. Hilda's donation for Ndandini went towards the installation, at the area elementary school, of a greenhouse/drip irrigation system.   Above is a picture of the beginnings of their first crop of tomatoes (Oct 12, 2010).

Historic Vote in United Nations declares water and sanitation as fundamental human rights.  Canada abstains during the vote.  Why?
