There is a CLIMATE FAIRE being held at the Gibsons Public Marker on on September 20th-21st, 2024.
The annual Climate Faire will celebrate the Sunshine Coast’s progress in reducing its climate footprint and building resilience. This event aims to inspire the community with local success stories, transform climate anxiety into positive action, and foster dialogue on climate change mitigation and adaptation." - The keynote speaker at 7PM (by video link) is Katherine Hayhoe, a Canadian atmospheric scientist, professor at Texas Tech University, also Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a Christian. Her talk will be followed by a panel discussion of more local scientists.
